Marriage in Thailand (Danish version) In order for a Danish citizen to marry a Thai citizen in Thailand, the Thai authorities request that the Danish person presents a Marriage Application issued at a Danish Embassy or Danish Consulate before the ceremony takes place at an Amphur (a local District Office). If you wish to have a Marriage Application issued at the Royal Danish Consulate in Pattaya, please use the following checklist:. 1. Make sure you have all of the following ORIGINAL documents: - CERTIFICATE OF NO IMPEDIMENT TO MARRIAGE (ÆGTESKABSERKLÆRING), legalised by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- THE PASSPORT OF THE PERSON YOU INTEND TO MARRY
- INCOME DOCUMENTATION FROM YOUR EMPLOYER OR FROM INLAND REVENUE OFFICE (seneste årsopgørelse)
- NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER OF TWO DANISH REFERENCES
2. Download and fill in the Marriage Application Form, but do not sign. The form can also be completed at the consulate when handing in the documents. 3. Bring the Marriage Application Form (if downloaded) and a complete set of all original documents mentioned above to the consulate.
The fee for the service will be paid when handing in the documents. See overview of fees: http://www.consulatepattaya.dk/consular-service/list-of-consular-fees.html 4. Assuming you have submitted all necessary documents, you will be able to collect the signed and stamped documents in approximately 2 working days.
5. When you collect the documents, we ask you to check that all information is correct and sign the Marriage Application Form in the presence of an officer from the consulate.
It is also possible to send scanned versions of the original documents and a completed Marriage Application Form to the consulate's e-mail address:

, and pay the fee to the consulate's account. The processing of the case will begin as soon as the fee is received. When you collect the documents at the consulate, we kindly ask you to bring and show us all original documents that have been scanned. NB: When scanning the Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (Ægteskabserklæringen), it is important that both pages with stamps are scanned.
After the Marriage Application has been issued, it will have to be translated to Thai and verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok in order to be valid at an Amphur (Please see “Procedure after issuing of Marriage Application” ).
